This section provides an overview of the features of the IPC Machine Controller.
• Concurrent Operation of Windows and Real-time OS
The Panel PC is provided with two operating systems: Windows and a real-time OS. It can concur-
rently perform both machine control functions by using the Controller Function on the real-time OS
and application processing on Windows.
With one IPC Machine Controller, you can control the equipment with the Controller, get the equip-
ment data from the Windows application, and communicate with other factory automation systems.
• Ensuring Operating System Independency
Windows and the real-time Operating System run independently. The Controller continues control-
ling even if Windows makes an unexpected stop.
• Machine Controller Software
The Sysmac NY-series IPC Machine Controller are next-generation machine automation controllers
that provide the functionality and high-speed performance that are required for machine control.
They provide the safety, reliability, and maintainability that are required of industrial controllers. The
IPC Machine Controller provide the functionality of previous OMRON machine controllers, and they
also provide the functionality that is required for motion control. Synchronized control of I/O devices
on high-speed EtherCAT can be applied to safety devices, vision systems, motion equipment, dis-
crete I/O, and more. OMRON offers the new Sysmac Series of control devices designed with unified
communications specifications and user interface specifications. The IPC Machine Controller are
part of the Sysmac Series. You can use them together with EtherCAT slaves, other Sysmac prod-
ucts, and the Sysmac Studio Automation Software to achieve optimum functionality and ease of op-
eration. With a system that is created from Sysmac products, you can connect components and
commission the system through unified concepts and usability.

Hardware Features
The Industrial Panel PC with Machine Automation Control Software provides the following hardware
features:
• Flexible mounting orientation
The Panel PC is designed to support landscape and portrait mounting orientations.
• Powerful CPU
Powerful CPU options provides high performance for various applications.
• Parallel Execution of Tasks with a Multi-core Processor
With a multi-core processor, the IPC Machine Controller can execute the task, the tag data link serv-
ice, and system services in parallel. This enables high-speed control of even large-scale devices.
• Easy access to storage devices and the PCI Express Card
Adding or changing storage devices (HDD, SSD) and the PCI Express Card is fast and simple.
• LED indicators
The LED indicators provide a clear indication of the operational status of the Panel PC.
• DVI visual interface
The video interface for the Panel PC is provided with a DVI connector for connection to an additional
monitor.
An extra (optional) DVI interface is available for connection to a second additional monitor.
