Chapter 9: IP65 Option Considerations
This chapter provides important considerations when using a robot with the IP65 option.
NOTE:
The IP65 option is available only for the eCobra 800 robot.
9.1 IP65 Option Classification
The following ingress protection measures are included with the IP65 option.

Dust Resistance: Protection of the equipment inside the robot shell against ingress of
solid foreign objects. No ingress of dust is allowed.

Water Resistance: Protection of the equipment inside the robot shell against harmful
effects due to the ingress of water. Water projected in jets against the robot enclosure
from any direction shall have no harmful effects.

9.2 User Requirements to Meet IP65 Rating
The IP65 robot provides the hardware needed to achieve an IP65 protection level, but you
must provide a way of sealing the tool flange and pressurizing the robot through the com-
pressed air attachment fitting (located at the top of the robot).
