SEND and RECV
I/O memory data from other nodes can be read or written by simply using the
program in the CPU Unit of a CS-series, CVM1, or CV-series PLC to execute
SEND and RECV.
CS-series PLCs
SEND
SEND transmits “n” words beginning with S (the beginning word for data
transmission at the local node) to “n” words beginning with D (the beginning
word for data reception at the remote node, N.)
Note
1.
When communicating with a CVM1 or CV-series PLC manufactured prior
to April 1996 on the local network, the local network address cannot be set
to “00.” Set a number other than “00” as the local network address in the
routing tables, and then specify that number.
2.
With the message service, there is no guarantee that a message to a re-
mote node will reach its destination. It is always possible that the message
may be lost in transit due to noise or some other condition. When using the
message service, it is advisable to prevent this situation from occurring by
performing resend processing at the node where instructions are issued.
S: Local node beginning send word
D: Remote node beginning receive word
C: Local node beginning control data word
Remote (destination) node N
00 to 3E (Hex): 0 to 62 (*1)
The same data can be broadcast to all nodes
on the network by setting the remote node address to FF
(Hex).
The range of node addresses will vary for networks
other than Controller Link Networks.

If the transmission speed is slow, then setting
a small value may generate an error. The
standard is approximately 4 seconds at
1 Mbps or 8 seconds at 500 Kbps.
