Transferring Images from a Camera
This section describes how to download files from an Olympus digital camera to your computer using a USB
cable. To download files, follow the procedure below. You can also back up camera albums
using the same procedure.
1
Plug the larger connector marked [A] of the USB cable into the USB port of
your computer, and connect the smaller connector marked [B] to the camera.
2
Do one of the following to display the [Transfer Images (From Camera)]
window.
•
From the [File] menu, click [Transfer Images], then [From Camera].
•
Click the [Transfer Images] button in the main menu, and click [From Camera] in the [Transfer
Images] menu.
•
In the [Browse] window, click [Transfer] on the toolbar, and then click [From Camera].
The camera is automatically detected, and the [Transfer Images (From Camera)] window appears. This
shows thumbnails of all of the images in the camera, and the file name and shooting date below each
thumbnail.
3
Select the files you want to download.
4
Configure the transfer settings
Tip
For details about the camera-to-computer connection, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the camera.
Note
Do not power off the camera or disconnect the interface cable while the software is either starting up or running. This
can cause a camera failure or software instability.
