6.1
Replacing the battery
Though the battery life depends on the operating environment and frequency of use, replacement
of the battery is recommended whenever the battery operation time becomes very short.
Contact Olympus about changing the battery.
For details about how to load and remove the battery, see "Using the battery" (P. 12).
6.2
Replacing the Tip Protection Hood
When the tip protection hood is worn out or deformed, replace it by following the steps below.
If a tear appears at the worn out area, replace the hood.
If the protection hood is found to be loose during the pre-operation preparation, attach it again by
following the steps below.
To detach

Turn the tip protection hood carefully in the anti-clockwise direction to
unfasten the screw.

Turn the tip protection hood carefully in the anti-clockwise direction while
pulling it lightly to engage the screw again.

Continue to turn carefully in the anti-clockwise direction to remove the tip
protection hood.
To attach

After removing dirt from the screw of the distal end, fit the tip protection hood
carefully to the distal end while ensuring that they form a straight line.

Turn the tip protection hood carefully in the clockwise direction to engage the
screw. Turn further and unfasten the screw once.

Next, turn the tip protection hood carefully in the clockwise direction while
pushing it in lightly to engage the screw again. Tighten the screw until the tip
protection hood is securely fastened.
