Problem
Cause and recommended action
Illumination does not light.
“LIGHT” in the menu is not set to ON or ECO.
→
Set to ON or ECO.
The LED unit is not correctly installed.
→
Install the optical adapter again according to the correct
procedures (see “Replacing the LED unit” (page 88)).
The optical adapter cannot
be attached to the
insertion tube.
A foreign object is stuck to the screws.
→
Wipe with a clean piece of gauze or a cotton swab.
The optical adapter in use is not a designated optical adapter for
this system.
→
Use the designated optical adapter.
The installation procedure is not correct.
→
Install the optical adapter again according to the correct
procedures (see “Attaching and removing the optical adapter”
The optical adapter cannot
be removed from the
insertion tube.
The installation procedure is not correct.

Repeat the installation and dismantlement procedures (see
“Attaching and removing the optical adapter” (page 24)).
The system cannot be
turned ON.
The AC adapter or the battery is not connected.

Connect the AC adapter or the battery correctly (see “Preparing
the power supply” (page 22)).
The power is not turned ON.
→
Set the [POWER] button ( ) of the main unit to ON.
A non-designated AC adapter or battery is connected.
→
Use the designated AC adapter or battery.
The system cannot be
turned OFF.
The main unit is damaged.
→
Remove the AC adapter or the battery from the main unit and
turn OFF the power.
The image is not sharp.
The objective lens of the distal end of the insertion tube or the
optical adapter is dirty.
→
Wipe with a clean piece of gauze or a cotton swab.
The optical adapter is not attached correctly.
→
Attach the optical adapter properly (see “Attaching and
removing the optical adapter” (page 24)).
The external monitor is not adjusted appropriately.
→
Adjust the external monitor appropriately.
