Calibrating the EPOCH 1000 Series (Phased Array Mode) 279

Verify that the

Start Angle

is –30° and the

End Angle

is +30°.

Calibrating the Velocity With a Zero Degree Transducer

To calibrate the velocity with a zero degree transducer

Press

[RANGE]

, and then enter an appropriate range for the calibration.

For this example, use 1.00 in. (25.4 mm).

Select

1/5 > PA CAL > CAL Mode = Velocity

Press

[ANGLE]

, and then adjust the selected focal law (angle) to 0°.

Couple the transducer to the 0.200 in. step of the calibration block.

Use the

[GATE]

key to position gate 1 so that the back-wall echo from the 0.200 in.

step of the block is exceeding the gate threshold.

Adjust the gain so that the echo amplitude is at approximately 80 %.
A thickness measurement reading appears in large text above the image.
