Locking Exposure
(AE Lock)
Lock exposure at the metered value. Use this option when you want to set focus
and exposure separately.
Exposure lock is performed using a button. Exposure lock ([AEL/AFL]) must
therefore be assigned to a button using [
n
Button Function] (P. 417). At default
settings, it is assigned to the
AEL/AFL
button.

Compose the shot to meter the subject for which you
want to set exposure and press the
AEL/AFL
button
once.

button once to lock exposure; an

icon will appear in the display.
