Olympus DS-3000 Recorder

EXVoice User Settings
If Voice system users have not already been created, add users as you normally would. To configure the users for
the Olympus portable, see the instructions below.
1. Modify the user in EXVoice Explorer...
!
Personal
tab in the
Client settings
group box:
•
Account
Disabled
check box - unchecked
•
Enter the
Login
for the user
•
Select the appropriate Admin group (note that the user’s Admin group must have the
Olympus
Uploader Execute
privilege assigned to upload files)
!
Profiles
tab. Configure a customized profile for the user:
•
Require id field edits
… group box – enable the check box for Olympus.
•
When importing jobs from portables that are aware of “Work Types”
… – not used.
•
When importing jobs from portables that are aware of “Reference Number”
… – not used
•
Before sending jobs to the server, convert
… – select PCM 8000Hz8Bit (mu-law)
2. In EXVoice Explorer, ensure that the Admin group chosen for the user has the
Olympus Uploader
Execute
privilege.
DS-3000 Recorder Setup
1. With the recorder powered off, insert 2 AA batteries in the battery compartment.
2. Insert the SmartMedia card into the slot at the top of the recorder. (To eject a card, power off the
recorder, and then slide the
Eject
switch up on the back of the recorder.)
3. Power on the recorder.
4. Set the date and time:

Press and hold the
FOLDER/MENU
button for 3 seconds to enter the setup mode.
!
Press
REW / FF
until
TIME & DATE
blinks. Press
REW / FF
to change a flashing indicator, and then
press REC to change the values.
!
Press
STOP
to end.
5. On the left side of the recorder:
!
Set the
CONF DICT
switch to
DICT
.
!
Set the
VCVA
switch to
OFF
.
6. Set the record mode to
LP (recommended if using or planning to use
EXSpeech). Otherwise, this can
be set to
SP
:
!
Press and hold the
FOLDER/MENU
button for 3 seconds to open the menu.
!
Press
REW / FF
until
REC MODE
blinks.
!
Press
REC/SET
to enter setup mode.
!
Press
REW / FF
until
LP
displays (a 16 MB card holds approximately 5½ hours of dictation in LP
mode).
!
Press
REC/SET
to save the setting.
!
Press
Stop
to close the menu.
