During the operation of hotͲwater prefab fireplaces (inserts) their overheating may occur,
most frequently due to a power supply failure. The circulation pump will stop and the water
temperature in the exchanger will rise abruptly as the produced heat is not removed. Protection
from overheating may be implemented in several ways. The

recommends
you
to
install
some
of
them.

Aftercoolingloop–Incaseofapowersupply
failure and overheating of the heat exchanger over
thesafelimittheaftercoolingthermostaticvalvewill
letcoldwaterfromthewatermaintoaloopinstalled
in the exchanger. Cold water flowing through the
aftercooling loop will remove heat from the
exchangerandflowtothedrain.

Aftercooling with a DBV valve – In case of a
power supply failure and overheating of the heat
exchanger over the safe limit it will let overheating
water to the drain and at the same time control
automatic replenishment of the heating system with
coldwaterfromthemain.

Backuppowersupplyofthepump–
In case of a power supply failure it supports
the operation of the pump for a short time
untilthefireinthefireplace(insert)goesout
Protecting
the
heating
system
from
high
pressure
To protect the heating system from high pressure we recommend you to use a safety valve. It is
installedattheoutletofheatingwaterfromtheheatexchanger.Noclosingvalvemaybeinstalledbetween
theheatexchangerandsafetyvalve.Themaximumdistanceofthesafetyvalvefromthesourceis20xDN.
Thesafetyvalveshouldbeaccessiblewellforregularfunctionalverifications.The

this

valve.

from
