The Explorer normally comes with an RS232 serial interface fitted as standard, please check with your balance supplier
that this is the case.
Setting up the balance:
• Getting into RS232 Mode
Turn the unit on.
Press the “Setup” button.
Press the “right” button until “RS232” is displayed then press the “Enter” button.
• Setting the Baud rate to 1200.
“BAUD” should now be displayed, press the “Enter” button.
Press the up or down buttons until “1200” is displayed then press the “Enter” button.
• Setting the Parity to none.
“PARITY” should now be displayed, press the “Enter” button.
Press the up or down buttons until “nonE” is displayed then press the “Enter” button.
• Setting the Data to 7 bits.
“DATA” should now be displayed, press the “Enter” button.
Press the up or down buttons until “7” is displayed then press the “Enter” button.
• Setting the Stop bits to 2.
“STOP” should now be displayed, press the “Enter” button.
Press the up or down buttons until “2” is displayed then press the “Enter” button.
• Setting Lock to Off.
“LOCK” should now be displayed, press the “Enter” button.
Press the up or down buttons until “OFF” is displayed then press the “Enter” button.
• Returning to normal operation.
“EXIT” should now be displayed, press the “Enter” button.
