Handling, Fitting and Focusing
Cleaning Your VES
Support or Questions
1.
Check to be certain that all screws in the
temple hinges and mounting brackets are
tight.
DO NOT WEAR a loose system. Wait
until it has been properly adjusted and
tightened by your prescribing specialist.
2.
Check that the fit of the temples, nose
pads,
and telescope are proper. If your
VES is out of adjustment seek assistance
from your prescribing specialist.
3.
The frame should fit slightly low on the
bridge
of your nose to properly position
the eyepiece for viewing through the
telescope. The Telescope need not be slid
down the nose to sight through the eye
piece. Simply drop the chin down slightly
and look up into the eyepiece.
4.
The VES should be handled with two hands
and placing it on and removing it from the
head very carefully.
5.
The VES is front heavy and may slip down
the nose. Use of a sport strap to support
the VES on the head can be helpful.
6.
The VES should not be shared with others.
Use by others may place the system out of
position or adjustment or may cause
damage not covered by the warranty.
7.
The VES is focusable for varied distances.
The focusing knob should
NEVER be
forced beyond its free range of movement.
If the focus becomes jammed,
DO NOT
FORCE it. Return your VES for mainte
nance
and repair to your prescribing
specialist.
The eyepiece lens may become soiled with
dirt or skin oil. This may reduce clarity
through the telescope. Clean the front and
the rear lenses of the telescope with an
approved camera or eyeglass lens cloth.
Moisten only the eyeglass lenses (not the
telescope lenses) with water or eyeglass
cleaner if required. NEVER hold the VES
under running water. The lenses may be
blown dry with compressed air to remove
dust (available through camera and office
supply stores).
Call your prescribing eye care specialist or
Ocutech for assistance.
