Appliance installation
►
The pipework and the pumps should be correctly
sized for your heating system and according to the
technical data for your heat pump.
►
A (manual) air vent valve must be fitted at the highest
point in the pipework.
►
At the lowest point in the pipework, fit a drain pipe to
allow the system to be drained.
►
Ensure that no foreign bodies (dust, dirt, etc.) can en-
ter the pipework
►
When using surface heating systems (e.g. underfloor
heating, wall heating), provide an appropriate high
limit safety cut-out. In the event of a fault, this will di-
rectly interrupt the heat generator pump.
►
A heating protection filter must be installed in the re
-
turn line of the heat pump to catch dirt.
Information
A heavily soiled heating protection filter can lead
to a high pressure safety shutdown or a fault shut-
down based on flow metering (heat sink).
»
Ensure that the heating protection filter is easy
to clean for maintenance purposes.
Information
Ensure that the flow velocity in the pipework does
not exceed 0.8 m/s, as this can cause increased
noise emissions.
9.3.1 Flow rate
Material damage
An insufficient flow rate can cause damage to the
heat pump system.
The flow rate is measured via
the flow sensor and shown on the OTE controller
display.
»
Install the supplied flow sensor.
»
When sizing the heat pump, make sure that
the nominal flow rate is ensured in any oper
-
ating mode (DHW charging, heating, cooling
mode via separate cooling heat pump buffer
tank, etc.). (See page 40
»
Install suitable circuit balancing valves in order
to regulate the system appropriately.

9.3.2 Connecting the heating water
»
Before connecting the heat pump, flush the pipework
through with filtered flushing water according to the
relevant standards. Foreign bodies such as rust,
sealing material and swarf will impair the operational
reliability of the heat pump.
