Checking camera alignment
Following the scanner installation, you carry out an initial camera alignment
from the Colour Scan software. Thereafter, you only need to perform this
alignment once a week after repeated scanning.
You must let the scanner reach the appropriate operating temperature before
making this adjustment (2 hours after you switch on the scanner). This
operation requires the
height alignment chart
(delivered with the scanner) and
a medium flat blade screwdriver.

The CS 4040 has three cameras, A, B, C, starting from the right side of the
scanner.
■
The CS 4050 has four cameras, A, B, C, D, starting from the right side of the
scanner.
Do not adjust camera B, as it is fixed and serves as a height reference for the
other cameras.

To check the camera height

Switch on the scanner and wait two hours for it to reach the optimal
temperature.

Insert the
height alignment chart
face down into the scanner, lining up the
arrow at the center insertion point.

Press “Paper Feed”.

Start Océ Scan.

In the “Scan” window’s “Scan setup” tab, set the mode to “Graytone.”

From the “Paper width” box, Set the width to “11.0” scanner units.

In the “Adjustments” tab, set the brightness and contrast to “0”.

Press
Forward
to prescan.
