GLOSSARY (cont.)

O MATTER

®

A family of proprietary structural synthetics that range from polycarbonates to long-chain
polymeric amides. Engineered for specific performance applications, O Matter

®

is formulated

for maximum durability and minimum weight.

POINT CLOUD MAPPING

A method of transferring information from a 3-D component to a data stream by using an
optical digital receptor that absorbs specific wavelengths of the visual spectrum.

UNOBTAINIUM

An advanced synthetic created by processes that range from polymerization to vulcanization.
Variants of this proprietary innovation are formulated for specific performance requirements
and may include hydrophilic and UV resistant properties.

GLOSSARY

CENTRIFUGAL INJECTION

A production technique used in the molding of metal components which utilizes the
extreme rotational velocity of centrifuging to impel liquid metal into the recesses of
intricate casting forms.

COMPUTER NUMERIC CONTROL

A process by which the digital information of computer modeling is translated directly to
production machinery, ensuring maximal precision, fidelity and consistency in the replication
of the original virtual design.

CRYSTAL OSCILLATOR

A timing component that utilizes the piezoelectric effect to vibrate at a precise frequency in
response to an alternating electrical field.  An interface of integrated circuitry registers 32,768
cycles to calculate each second of time.

ELECTROLUMINESCENCE

The emission of cold light (low infrared signature) by certain substances when exposed to
alternating electrical fields at low power levels.

LIQUID CRYSTAL DIODE

A device used in alphanumeric displays which uses a transparent liquid crystal in a pattern of
sealed capsules that become opaque when an electrical field is applied.

LIQUID LASER PROTOTYPING

A technique of producing fully rendered 3-D prototypes in crystalline form by the bombardment
of laser light within a tank of acrylic liquid.
