7.2 Cannot read data from EEPROM
A successful authentication is the main condition to have read access to the transpond-
ers EEPROM memory. Depending on the transponder type several additional restrictions
to the EEPROM areas can be set or have to be checked.
HITAG2
The HITAG2 EEPROM memory consists only of 8 pages. The read access to these pag-
es is controlled via the TMCF register which can be modified by the user via the TMCF
tab of the EEPROM window.

HITAG2-Extended
Since the HITAG2-Extended transponder is an extension of the HITAG2 transponder the
read control of the first 8 pages is the same. The read access of the extended memory is
controlled via the

vided by the user into segments and blocks. If you want to read memory the according
segments and block sizes have to be “open”.

Check the read access mode of each segment in the Read/Write column.
The block size can’t be changed anymore if the appropriate PWS checkbox is enabled
(locked). The read access mode can’t be changed anymore if the appropriate PWM
checkbox is enabled (locked).

EEPROM memory. Depending on the transponder type several additional restrictions to
the EEPROM areas can be set or have to be checked.
