The LS1046ARDB has a JTAG header (J22) that helps the LS1046A processor to communicate externally with CodeWarrior TAP.
2.14 CMSIS-DAP interface
This section describes the MBED circuit on the LS1046ARDB. MBED is an open standard serial and debug adapter. It bridges
serial and debug communications between a USB host and an embedded target processor, as shown in the figure below.

CMSIS-DAP is managed by a Kinetis K22 MCU built on the ARM Cortex-M4 core. The Kinetis K22 includes an integrated USB
controller that can operate at clock rates of up to 120 MHz. The CMSIS-DAP circuit includes a status LED. In addition, signal
connections are available to implement a UART serial channel.
CMSIS-DAP features a mass storage device (MSD) boot loader, which provides a quick and easy mechanism for loading different
CMSIS-DAP applications, such as flash programmers, run control debug interfaces, serial-to-USB converters, and so on.
2.15 Temperature measurement
The LS1046ARDB has a digital temperature sensor (thermal monitor), which can be used to measure the LS1046A die
temperature through the thermal diode of the processor. The LS1046A processor sends temperature readings (through
TD1_ANODE and TD1_CATHODE signals) to the temperature sensor. Upon detecting thermal problems, the temperature sensor
sends alarm signals (through THERM_WARN_B and THERM_FAULT_B interrupt signals) to the processor. These interrupts can
be used to power down the system to protect the processor from over-temperature damage. The figure below shows thermal
management system in the LS1046ARDB.
