Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC)
11.1 Introduction

The 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is a successive approximation ADC
designed for operation within an integrated microcontroller system-on-chip.
NOTE
For the chip specific modes of operation, see the power
management information of the device.
11.1.1 Features
Following are the features of the ADC module.
• Linear successive approximation algorithm with up to 16-bit resolution
• Up to four pairs of differential and 24 single-ended external analog inputs. See the
chip-specific information to know the exact number of single-ended external analog
inputs supported on your device.
• Output modes:
• differential 16-bit, 13-bit, 11-bit, and 9-bit modes
• single-ended 16-bit, 12-bit, 10-bit, and 8-bit modes
• Output format in 2's complement 16-bit sign extended for differential modes
• Output in right-justified unsigned format for single-ended
