Chapter 1
Introduction
This document is a quick and easy guide to get the NXP’s EasyEVSE up and running. EasyEVSE is a simulated electric vehicle
charge station connected to the Microsoft Azure Iot Central.
The EasyEVSE integrates the following NXP product lines: i.MX RT106x Crossover MCU, Kinetis KM3x Metrology MCU,
CLRC663 NFC Frontend, and SE050 Secure element.
When you are familiar with the platform, see the EV Charging Station Development Platform User Manual, which provides a
comprehensive description of each building block of the EasyEVSE.
1.1 How to read this document
It is suggested to read this guide in the following sequence:
1. Solution overview. Solution overview explains the goals and components of the platform.
2. Get the hardware. Required hardware lists the required hardware and boards to run the EasyEVSE.
3. Get the software. Required software points to the required software to download.
4. Configure the cloud dashboard. Configuring cloud dashboard describes dashboard customization.
5. Device registration. Device registration explains how to register a device into the Azure IoT Central.
6. Demo board setup. Board setup, wiring, and assembly explains how to stack, program, and wire the demo boards.
7. System power up. System powerup and operation illustrates the power-up sequence and operation.
Supplementary material for readers unfamiliar with the Azure IoT Central terminology or technology is provided in the appendix.
