5.2. Connect to the Operator Interface
Ensure your computer is connected directly to the Stack Switchgear via an Ethernet cable. You will
need to configure the network adapter on your computer to match the settings on your battery
management system.
Identify the battery management system IP
By default, Stack Switchgear is configured with a static IP address of
192.168.1.21
, unless noted
otherwise on a label on the Stack Switchgear.
Identify the parts of the battery management system’s IP Address
The IP address has two parts - the network ID and the host ID.
Figure 39. Parts of an IP address
Write down the network ID and host ID parts of the battery management system’s IP address.
Determine a valid IP address to assign to the PC
The Network ID for the PC IP address must be the same as the battery management system. The
Host ID number can be any number from 2 to 255 as long at it is not the same as the Host ID of
the battery management system. For example if the battery management system IP address is
192.164.1.21
, the IP address of the PC could be
192.168.1.12
or
192.168.1.49
or any
192.168.1.x
where
x
is not
21
.
If you have multiple stacks, note down the Host ID from the IP address of each
stack’s battery management system. The Host ID number assigned to the PC
must be different from this list.
