Always disconnect the device from
the power supply whenever
electricity is not required for the
current activity (e.g. cleaning,
removal or insertion of blades or
other detachable parts, storage).
Never use a defective device or a
device with defective accessories.
2.3 OPERATION
The NUK Baby Menu uses hot steam to
cook, heat and defrost food. This steam is
generated by heating the water in the water
tank. The steam is directed from the base
unit into the bowl via the lid. To allow the
steam to reach the bowl unhindered, it is
essential that the lid is correctly applied and
closed. The lid features a locking
mechanism for this purpose. It is particularly
important that an optimum connection is
established between the steam outlet
of
the base unit and the steam inlet
on the
lid.
Excess steam
is directed outside the
device via the steam outlet
on the lid.
For functional reasons, some condensed
water may leak out of the lid and run down
on the bowl
This is necessary for
technical reasons and does not impair the
safety of the appliance.
Check the lid and bowl for damage
before each use. The lid and the bowl
must lock into place when inserted.
Replace damaged parts before use.
In the case of incorrect assembly, the
heating unit remains deactivated by a safety
switch.
Risk of scalding! The device emits
hot steam during operation and when
the lid is opened. Avoid contact with
the hot steam by maintaining a safe
distance with your face and hands.
Note:
The bowl is made of material
specifically designed for the preparation of
foodstuffs.
Note:
When steam cooking, the blending or
smoothie blade must always be fitted to
prevent leaks.
2.3.1 STEAM COOKING
Risk of burning! Parts of device can
get very hot during steam cooking.
Avoid skin contact. Do not lean over
the device.
Never leave the appliance "ON"
without supervision.
1. Open the knob on the water tank by
aligning the oval marking (
0
) on the knob
with the marking
on the device
through a quarter turn clockwise
(Figure 1).
2. Fill the water tank with the required level
of cold water as specified in the recipe
guidelines (section 2.4). Do not fill the
water tank
above maximum capacity
(Figure 3).
3. Close the water tank by re-applying the
knob and turning it such that the oval
marking (
0
) on the knob is aligned with
the marking
on the device (Figure 2).
4. If the device is assembled: remove the lid
with a quarter turn clockwise and lift it up
(Figure 4). Now remove the bowl from the
base unit with a quarter turn clockwise
and take out the baskets, if applicable.
5. Cut the ingredients into small pieces.
Guidelines can be found in section 2.4.
If you wish to steam two separate
ingredients without mixing them:
– Place the half-basket into the basket
such that the former is secured in the
internal grooves of the latter (Figure 5).
Then add the ingredients to the baskets.
6. Place the basket and half-basket, if
applicable, into the bowl.
7. Apply the lid to the bowl and turn it anti-
clockwise until it locks into place.
(Figure 6).
