Installing a generic printer on a Windows 7 host PC for the
purpose of firmware upload
A firmware update via data line requires a „Generic“ printer to be installed on a host
PC running under Windows 7. Follow this installation instruction:
1. Click START > DEVICES AND PRINTERS > ADD PRINTER.
2. Click ADD A LOCAL PRINTER.
3. In the dialog „Choose a printer port“ select STANDARD TCP/IP PORT (alternativ-
ley USB PORT, if a USB line is connected) [2]. Click NEXT.

4. Enter the IP address of the machine into the field HOSTNAME OR IP ADDRESS




The checkbox „Query the printer [...]“ must not be activated.
