Foam Air Filter Cleaning
Clean foam air filter to prevent the air flow from being restricted to the carburetor and to
maintain engine performance. After operating the generator in very dusty areas, clean the foam
air filter more frequently than specified in the Maintenance Schedule (see Section 4.3).

Wash foam air filter in a solution of household detergent and warm water, then rinse
thoroughly, or wash in non-flammable or high flash point solvent. Allow foam air filter
to dry thoroughly.
2.
Soak foam air filter in clean engine oil and squeeze out excess oil. The engine will
smoke during initial startup if too much oil is left in the foam air filter.
