Chapter 2 - Interface Settings

FM-9 with Serial Port
1. Turn off power to the terminal/computer.
2. If using an RS-232 connection, connect the serial interface cable’s RJ-50 connector to the FM-
8/FM-9 and to the matching port on the host (in the example images below a computer acts as
the host).

3. Connect Power to the FM-8/FM-9 cable.
4. Once the FM-8/FM-9 has been fully connected, power up the computer or host.
Note:
If connecting the FM-8/FM-9 using an RS-232 interface, all communication
parameters between the engine and host must match for correct data transfer through the
serial port.
