Use the
compact
command to compact the flash memory card.
For example, to compact the flash memory card in slot 9, enter:
compact 9:

From the PC or UNIX workstation, use FTP or TFTP in binary mode to
copy the following files to the Versalar 15000 flash memory card:
aapdiag.rom
atpdiag.rom
bcc.help
bflash_801.exe
capdiag.rom
config
ifpdiag.rom
init.cfg
ptpdiag.rom
sspboot.ppc
sspdiag.ppc
v15k.exe
For example, enter the following commands:
ftp
open
<IP_address>
mode binary
put v15k.exe
put init.cfg
IP_address
is the IP address of the Versalar 15000.

Upgrade boot and diagnostic PROM code on the router.
The router’s programmable read-only memory (PROM) contains software
images for its bootstrap and diagnostic code. Bootstrap and diagnostic PROM
code is included on the Carrier Networking Services release media.
For example, to upgrade PROM code, enter the following commands:
prom -w 9:sspboot.ppc 9
prom -w 9:sspdiag.ppc 9

Verify that the PROM code upgrade was successful.
For example, enter the following commands:
prom -v 9:sspboot.ppc 9
prom -v 9:sspdiag.ppc 9
