Customizing the Customer Interface
Logging configuration
The Symposium Web Center Portal components use the LOG4J logging API
provided by Apache. You must configure LOG4J to log the activity or errors of
the Symposium Web Center Portal components. Nortel Networks recommends
that you configure LOG4J through the log4j.properties file located in the
installation directory of the Customer Interface (for example, Nortel
Networks\Symposium Web Center Portal\Sample Customer Interface\).
You must place the log4j.properties file in a directory in your classpath and set
the following Java system property at runtime to use this file in your application:
-Dlog4j.configuration=log4j.properties
You configure the LOG4J.propterties file to change the maximum log file size,
and change the number of backup files you want to keep.
To change to maximum log file size
1
Navigate to the LOG4J.properties file.
2
Under #Set the maximum log file size, enter size you require (in kbytes).
3
Save your changes to the file.
To change to the number of backup files you want to keep
1
Navigate to the LOG4J.properties file.
2
Under #Keep on the backup file, enter the number of backup files you want
to store.
3
Save your changes to the file.
You can delete the SWCP.log file you configured in the LOG4J.properties file
while the Customer Interface is still active.
To delete the SWCP.log file
1
Navigate to the SWCP.log file.
2
Right-click the file.
3
