Address Book
Symposium Web Center Portal Release 4.0 supports a corporate Address Book
accessed using LDAP 3.0 protocol. The Address Book allows agents responding
to a customer by e-mail to select addresses from a corporate directory. You can
configure the Address Book through the Portal Administrator. For more
information, refer to “Configuring the Address Book feature” on page 338.
Changes to the Customer Interface
The Portal Sample Customer Interface uses Java Server Pages (JSP) in
Symposium Web Center Portal Release 4.0 instead of Active Server Pages
(ASP) used in Symposium Web Center Portal Release 3.0. For more
information, refer to “Customizing the Customer Interface” on page 551.
The Customer Interface administrator can use business objects to access the
Symposium Web Center Portal Release 4.0 system. For more information, refer
to “Implementation of the Sample Customer Interface” on page 555.
International characters
In Symposium Web Center Portal Release 4.0, the Agent Interface can display
international character sets for inbound correspondence from the Web or e-mail,
as well as for outbound agent-to-customer replies in the form of an e-mail.
Agents can read and write e-mail text and subject lines in any of the following
supported international languages:
