Configuring Symposium Web Center Portal for e-mail and telephony integration

Configuration sequence
You can configure Portal Server as either
!
a member server in a domain (recommended by Nortel Networks)
!
a primary domain controller
If your server is configured as a member server in a domain

The Domain Administrator must create a new domain user account on the
domain controller.
Note:
The new user must only be a member of the Domain Users’ Group.
The new user is created in the Domain Controller. The computer on which
you installed the Symposium Web Center Portal database must be a
member of the domain. The account must not cross domain boundaries.
This new account is only used by the DTH.
a.
Log on to the Domain Controller.
b.
From the Start menu, choose Programs
➝
Administrative Tools
➝
Active Users and Computers.
c.
Click Local Users and Groups, and then click Users.
d.
From the Action menu, click New User.
e.
Enter a user name and password for the new user.
f.
Clear the “User must change password at next logon” box.
g.
Check “User cannot change password” and “Password never expires.”
h.
To allow you to create and modify the DTH.log file, you must give the
new domain user account Full permissions on the SWCPLog folder.

folder” on page 187.

From the Windows Start menu, choose Programs

Administrative Tools
➝
Services.

Right-click the SWCP Dynamic Transaction Handler service, and then click
Properties.

Set the Startup Type to “automatic.”

Click the Log On tab.

Click This Account, and then add the new user account to the domain.
