On a 8003, 8006, or 8010 chassis, the filler panel covers an empty module
slot. On the 8010co chassis, the filler panel resembles a module and is
installed in the empty module slot.
Installing a filler panel takes approximately one minute.

Locate the slot where you want to install the filler panel.

Insert the filler panel into the slot (8010co chassis), or place the
filler panel over the slot (8003, 8006, or 8010 chassis).

Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the two screws.

Removing a module
Remove a module to install another module or a filler panel. Removing a
module takes three to five minutes.
Prerequisites
•
Before you remove an 8691 or 8692 SF/CPU module, back up your
configuration. If the chassis includes only one SF/CPU module and you
remove it, the switch does not operate.

Ensure that traffic is not traversing the module. Disable the
module before you remove it. For further instructions, see Nortel

WARNING
Risk of eye injury by laser
Fiber optic equipment can emit laser or infrared light that can
injure your eyes. Never look into an optical fiber or connector
port. Always assume that fiber optic cables are connected to a
light source.
