Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 module fundamentals

When you use an 8616 module with Auto-Negotiation enabled, set the
re-autoneg flag for proper interoperability. Set the flag using the CLI
command

config bootconfig flags 8616-reautoneg true

or the

NNCLI command

boot config flags 8616-reautoneg

.

8616SXE module

The 8616SXE module provides 16 1000BASE-SX ports (850 nm Gigabit
Ethernet) that use MT-RJ type connectors for riser connections, server
attachments, or interswitch links. The 8616SXE module supports
standards-based 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) full-duplex operation only. The
following figure shows the 8616SXE module.

The optical transceivers provide transmission ranges as follows:

•

up to 275 m using 62.5 µm multimode fiber cable

•

up to 550 m using 50 µm multimode fiber cable
