power is on, the module is performing

initialization. A module in this state is not
yet functional.

The 8608SXE module supports up to 32 000 table entries in its forwarding
engine. The 8608SXE module does not support R or M mode.

8616GTE module

The 8616GTE module provides 16 1000BASE-T copper gigabit Ethernet
ports with 8-pin modular (RJ-45) connectors. Each port operates in 1000
Mbps full-duplex mode and supports the IEEE 802.3ae standard. You can
attain distances of up to 100 meters with CAT 5 unshielded twisted pair
(UTP) cable. The following figure shows the 8616GTE module.
