Passport 7400 Hardware Installation, Maintenance, and Upgrade 5.2S1
Removing a 16-slot Passport switch power supply
Remove a 16-slot Passport switch power supply if it fails.

Set the power switch on the power supply faceplate to the standby
position. See the figure “Unlocked power supply with power switch in the
standby position” (page 355).
CAUTION
Risk of service loss
Do not overload the power supplies. One power supply
can support a maximum of eight CPs and FPs.
WARNING
Risk of personal injury
Power supplies weigh 6.6 kg (14.5 lb) each. Handle
carefully and avoid dropping.

To meet electromagnetic interference (EMI) regulatory
requirements and thermal specifications, empty power
supply bays must be fitted with power supply blanks.
Power supply blanks are removed and installed using the
same procedure as for power supplies.
