16-port OC-3/STM-1 POS and ATM FP with PEC NTHW44
The function processor (FP) 16-port OC-3/STM-1 packet over SONET (POS)
and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) is added to the list of available
Passport 15000 or 20000 FPs. These changes were made to this document:
• added the section “SFP optical module cleaning” (page 65) as a best
practice
• added the procedure “Cleaning an SFP optical module” (page 281)
• updated the Prerequisites to the procedure “Connecting an FP cable”
(page 320)
• updated the table “Actions to engage types of FP connectors” (page 324)
to add handling an SFP module and to clarify plugging LC connectors
into an SFP
• updated the procedure “Installing an SFP optical module” (page 588) to
include the SFP module PECs and improve the installation steps
• added what to do with SFP modules in the procedures “Removing an FP”
(page 750) and “Removing an FP cable” (page 755)
• updated the procedure “Removing an SFP optical module” (page 759)
An additional version of the lower and upper cooling units
An additional version of the lower (rear) and upper (front) cooling units is
available. The following are updated to distinguish one from the other:
• added new cooling units and replacement parts to these tasks and
procedures:
— “Cooling unit replacement” (page 100)
— “Fan controller replacement” (page 102)
