Startup procedures for a Nortel Contact
Center solution
When restarting Nortel Contact Center solution, Nortel recommends the
following sequence:
1 Start Nortel LinkPlexer 6.0 and ensure the service is running.
2 Start the Contact Center Manager Server. Ensure the primary CCMS
services are running before proceeding to the next step.
3 Start the TAPI server and ensure that the ACD proxy service is running.
ACD proxy starts the Telephony service. Ensure Call Monitor is running.
4 Start the Nortel Startup services on the Peri Link server (this establishes
the socket connection to the TAPI server).
5 Make test calls into the VPS system to ensure the calls are being handled
correctly.
If an outage is planned for Contact Center Manager Server, for full backups or
SU/SUS/PEP installation, the order in which the systems are brought down
should start at step 4 and go to step 1.
Stopping the services
1 On the Peri Link server, open the Services for the server, select the
Periphonics Startup Services , and then click Stop .
2 On the TAPI server, at the Run line, type killtapi . This shuts down the ACD
proxy and Telephony services.
3 If you are performing a full backup of Contact Center Manager Server, wait
for the services to stop and go to the next step (step 4). If you are installing
an SU, SUS, or PEP on the server, wait for the services to stop or for the
server to start the reboot process before proceeding to the restarting
sequence.
ATTENTION
Do not hard reboot the Peri Link server.
