Use the locking/extractor mechanism on the transceiver to release it.
The locking/extractor mechanism varies from model to model.

Transceiver locking/extractor mechanism examples

Slide the transceiver out of the module slot.

If the transceiver does not slide easily from the module slot, use a
gentle side-to-side rocking motion while firmly pulling the transceiver
from the slot.

Attach a dust cover over the fiber optic bores and store the
transceiver in a safe place until needed.

Note: Transceivers should be discarded in accordance with the
proper laws and regulations.
