Disassembly
CAUTION:
Do not scratch or score the plunger shaft or the pressure
housing ID. Any burrs will damage the packing V-rings and cause leaks.
1. See Figure C 2-3. Loosen the solvent cup (1).
2. Place the pressure housing (12) flats in a soft-jawed vise.
3. Unscrew the upper housing from the pressure housing and lift it off the
plunger.
4. Pull the plunger (8) out of the pressure housing. If the plunger won’t
come out, leave it in until step 7.
5. Unscrew the siphon housing (18) from the pressure housing.
6. If you couldn’t pull the plunger out of the pressure housing in step 4, you
can now use a rubber mallet to drive the plunger down through the
pressure housing. If no rubber mallet is available, place a wood block
on the end of the plunger to protect it from damage.
7. Place the flats of the pressure ball seat (10) in a soft-jawed vise.
Unscrew the plunger from the ball seat. Set the small ball (9) aside.
8. Remove the male and female adapters and V-rings (2, 3, and 4) from
the ball seat.
9. Remove the ball cage (14), large ball (15), siphon ball seat (16), and
white PTFE O-ring (17) from the siphon housing.
