Mounting and Connections
(contd)
Task
Instructions
Mounting
Mount the pump vertically on a wall, stand, or wheeled dolly able to support the pump
weight and withstand vibration.
Use
1
/
2
-in. or 13-mm bolts and washers in the mounting slots so the air motor or
hydraulic section can be removed without removing the pump from its mounting.
If you use threaded studs in place of bolts in the two lower mounting slots you will not
be able to remove the hydraulic section without dismounting the entire pump.
Grounding
Connect the ground clamp to a true earth ground. The resistance to ground should not
exceed 20 ohms.
Air
Connections
Connect a 19-mm (
3
/
4
-in.) ID minimum air supply hose to the air inlet port. Do not use
rigid tubing, which transmits vibration.
Refer to
Section D1 Air Motor Parts
for the optional Air Motor Accessory kit, which
includes a hose and an air filter/regulator/gauge package.
Fluid
Connections
Refer to
Section A1 Quick Reference
for siphon and high pressure hose
recommendations, and
Section D2 Hydraulic Section Parts
for optional siphon hose
and circulation kits.
Connect the optional Siphon Accessory kit and/or Circulation kit to the siphon port.
The circulation kit includes installation instructions.
NOTE:
All siphon connections must be air-tight. Air leaks will affect pump priming and
cause cavitation.
Connect a high-pressure fluid hose to the high pressure fluid outlet port. Do not use
rigid tubing, which transmits vibration.
Remote
Exhaust
Option
Refer to
Section D1 Air Motor Parts
for the optional remote exhaust muffler kit. These
mufflers are equipped with 1
1
/
4
in. NPT fittings, for use in a header system to conduct
exhaust air away from the pump and reduce noise levels.
Remove the standard mufflers and replace them with the optional mufflers.
Connect flexible hose to the muffler fittings.
Slope the exhaust line downward away from the pump, to prevent moisture from
collecting in the line and draining back into the air motor.
