Pump Components
Air Motor
See Figure 2-2. The air motor consists of two cylinders (4) containing two
spring-return pistons. A modular air preparation system consisting of an air
filter (12), regulator (6), and lubricator (5) conditions the compressed air
used to control and operate the air motor.
The accumulator (1) stores and releases working air to smooth the flow of
air to the cylinders and help prevent pressure fluctuations (wink) at the
spray device. Pump operation is controlled by the roller valves (11), the
double pilot valve (14), and the air valve (2).
Hydraulic Section
The hydraulic section consists of two separate hydraulic housings (9), a
siphon manifold (10), and a solvent chamber (7). Fluid enters the pump
through the siphon manifold and exits through the outlet manifold (8). The
solvent chamber holds solvent chamber fluid, which lubricates the hydraulic
plungers and reduces wear on the packings.
