SETTING TIME OF THE RECORDER
You can set the date and time of the device if necessary. To perform a time-setting of the
device, connect it to the PC using the special USB cable, go to "Tools" menu of the APIOS
software and click on "Manage devices". The window that opens allows you to select the
device and apply the date and time of the computer (default) or a date and time of your
choice.
CALIBRATING THE RECORDER
Before first use, the parameters of the recorder must be adjusted so that they best fit the
mandibular movement sensor in use. The calibration is good for at least a few months. It is
not necessary to calibrate the device at each use provided a particular recorder is always
used with the same mandibular movement sensor. However, the device must be
recalibrated in case a different mandibular movement sensor is associated with it.
Recalibration of the device can also help if a problem in acquisition of the Jawac signal
arises (see the “Troubleshooting” chapter).
Each time a new mandibular movement sensor is associated with the
recorder, the device must be recalibrated.
To calibrate the device, follow these instructions:
•
Gather the recorder, the mandibular movement sensor which is associated with
the recorder, and the calibration tool provided with the sensor,
•
Connect the recorder to the computer,
•
Go to "Tools " menu of the APIOS software and click on "Manage devices",
•
Select the device,
•
Click on the button "Calibrate", and follow instructions displayed.
