Problem
The remote is not working.
You see the on-screen message
‘insert smartcard’.
You have forgotten your parental
code.
Possible causes
Battery exhausted.
Remote is incorrectly
aimed.
The Mediamaster is in standby.
An incorrect code has been entered
into the remote.
The Mediamaster can’t recognise
your smartcard.
What to do
Change the batteries.
Aim the remote at Mediamaster.
Check that nothing blocks the front
panel.
Check if (:) is flashing on the front
panel display when you press a
button. If not replace the batteries .
Refer to the relevant section of this
book to make sure that the right
codes are being used for your
other equipment.
Check that you are using the
proper smartcard. Check that the
smartcard has been correctly
inserted. If the problem persists,
you may have a problem with the
card.
