2.4.5 Environmental Requirements for Installation

2.4.6 Protective Safety Ground (Earth)
The cable used for safety ground must be at minimum 12 AWG (3.3 sq mm; 2.0 mm
diameter) in size, green and yellow in color, and of sufficient length to connect the
building earth point to the chassis ground connection. This 12 AWG ground wire
exceeds the minimum safety requirement, to also address compliance with the EMC
surge requirements. See

2.4.7 EMC Compliance
EMC compliance requires the use of shielded cables and may require other special
accessories. Where required, these special accessories must be installed as per the
instructions.
To maintain EMC compliance, cables that are shielded and grounded at both ends
must be used on the following interfaces and ports:
• Console port
• RJ-45 Alarm port
• Ethernet interfaces

Fast Ethernet (CAT5 minimum)
• RS-232 interfaces
2.4.8 Regulatory Symbols
The 7705 SAR-Hm and 7705 SAR-Hmc use various regulatory symbols, which may
be used on product markings such as approvals labels. These symbols are
