Installing the Nokia 500i Gateway
The Nokia 500i gateway is a two-rack-unit appliance that incorporates a
serviceable slide-out tray into the chassis design. The front panel of the Nokia
500i gateway has two I/O slots. A 6U PMC carrier is provided for the I/O
slots. Each 6U PMC carrier supports two PMC network interface cards
(NICs) for a total of four NICs.
Note
The 6U PMC carrier on the Nokia 500i gateway is not hot swappable. You
must turn off power to the system before replacing NICs on the Nokia
500i gateway.
The front panel of the 500i gateway also contains:

One four-port Ethernet management interface
The Nokia 500i gateway is designed to meet other mid- to high-end
availability requirements, including port density for connections to redundant
internal, external, DMZ, and management networks. You can purchase the
500i gateway with either AC or DC (NEBS) redundant power supplies. In
addition, the Nokia 500i gateway provides N + 1 cooling.
Grounding the Nokia 500i Gateway
To ground the 500i gateway
1.
Locate and remove from the package the #6 ring tongue lugs and kep
nuts.
2.
Attach a 10 AWG or 12 AWG insulated grounding cable to the lugs.
