Image Quality Setting
•
The setting for image quality is shown by an icon displayed on the monitor during shooting and
playback (

8 to 10).
•
The image quality can be changed by selecting
Image quality
and rotating the command dial
when menus are displayed.
•
The setting is also applied to other shooting modes (except for shooting modes
i
and
Easy
panorama
and
3D photography
in scene mode).
•
RAW (NRW) images cannot be recorded in scene mode.
When the mode is changed to scene mode from other shooting modes, the image quality is
changed according to situation as follows.
- When
RAW (NRW)
is set, the image quality is changed to
Fine
.
- When
RAW (NRW) + Fine
or
RAW (NRW) + Normal
is set, the image quality is changed to
Fine
or
Normal
respectively.
•
The digital zoom cannot be used when
Image quality
is set to
RAW (NRW)
,
RAW (NRW) + Fine
or
RAW (NRW) + Normal
.
•
Some features cannot be used in combination with other menu settings. See “Features Not

Recording of RAW (NRW) and JPEG Images at the Same Time
•
The RAW (NRW) image and the JPEG image that are recorded at the same time have the same file
number but with their own file extensions, “.NRW” and “.JPG” (
E
95).
•
When playing back on the camera, only the JPEG image is displayed.
•
Note that when the JPEG image is deleted by pressing the
l
button, the RAW (NRW) image that
was recorded at the same time is also deleted.
