Detailed Tag Listing – DATA Tag
If you set the -p command-line option to 2 or 6, Validator generates a Detailed Tag Listing
and reports all fields of each Nielsen ID3 tag that it detects. Remember that there are two
types of ID3 tags: DATA and INFO. Ideally, DATA tags are delivered at 10-second
intervals and INFO tags are delivered at 5-minute intervals. DATA tags are used for
crediting, while INFO tags are used to identify your device or application as the source of
the DATA tags.
The text below shows a typical Nielsen ID3 DATA tag. The sections that follow describe
the components of the DATA tag. Note the following:

If you called Validator with the
-df
or
-dr
option, the tag-listing file displays the name
of each segment, followed by the string *** EMSG: www.nielsen.com:id3:v1, before it
lists the ID3 tags found in that segment.
•
If you called Validator with the
-d
option, the *** EMSG string is displayed, but the
segment names are not displayed.
