OPERATING PROCEDURE: AR (refractive error) and KM (corneal curvature radius) Measurements
3.5
AR (refractive error) and KM (corneal curvature radius) Mea-
surements
This section describes the AR (refractive error) and KM (corneal curvature radius) measurements.
The measurement mode is selectable among R/K (AR/KM measurement mode), R (AR measurement
mode), and K (KM measurement mode).
3.5.1
AR/KM measurement mode
AR (refractive error) and KM (corneal curvature radius) measurements are performed successively.
1
Perform Steps 1 to 11 of
“3.4 Operating Procedure and Measurement Method” (page
.
Press
in Step 3 to select R/K (AR/KM measurement mode).
In Step 11, when the focus is aligned to the eye, AR/KM measurement starts automatically.
2
The measurement is performed automatically in the following order:
1)
KM measurement starts. (KM)
2)
A beep sounds, then the KM measurement values and the number of measurements are dis-
played. (KM)
3)
At this point, if the device remains aligned and in focus, the KM measurement is repeated from
Step 1).
4)
When the specified number of KM measurements is obtained, the scenery chart is fogged. (AR)
5)
AR measurement starts. (AR)
6)
A beep sounds, then the AR measurement values and the number of measurements are dis-
played. (AR)
7)
At this point, if the device remains aligned and in focus, the AR measurement is repeated from
Step 4).
If accommodation is not eliminated satisfactorily at Step 4) during the first measurement, the fog-
ging level will be increased from the second measurement.
When the
parameter is set to “3”, fogging will be performed in each
measurement.
8)
When the specified number of measurements is obtained,
is displayed on the
screen and measurement is complete.
