E-Alert Settings
Clicking
Configure Network > E-Alert
takes you to the
E-Alert Settings
page, which allows you to set up
automatic email alerts for RAID system events.

The
E-Alert General Configuration
section displays settings for the sender (the Nexsan unit):
Sender email address
: The email address that appears in the
From:
field of the E-Alert.
SMTP email server
: The IP address or DNS host name of the mail server.
Email Subject format
: The format of the email subject field. There are three options:
FriendlyName Model (SysID) AlertType Event
— Populates the subject line with the unit’s friendly
name, the unit model, the system ID, the alert type, and a short description of the event.
FriendlyName Model (SysID) SubSystem AlertType Event
— Populates the subject line with the
unit’s friendly name, the unit model, the system ID, the specific enclosure, the alert type, and a short
description of the event.
FriendlyName Model (SysID) (S,A) Event
— Populates the subject line with the unit’s friendly name,
the unit model, the system ID, abbreviated forms of the enclosure and alert type, and a short description
of the event.
Current emailer status
: Shows whether or not there are emails waiting in the queue to be sent. You can
click
Clear Email Queue
to delete any emails currently in the queue. This may be necessary or useful if
you need to have the unit send a critical alert immediately.
The
Summary of All Email Recipients
section displays settings for all E-Alert recipients:
Email Address
: Displays the email address of the recipient.
Options
: Displays the types of E-Alerts this recipient receives:

alerts for each of six categories:

isk,

AID,
H
ost,

iscellaneous, and

pplication.
Automatic Status Email
: Displays the
Schedule
and
Format
of the automatic status update email sent to
this recipient.
Configure
link: Opens the
Configure E-Alert Recipient
page for the E-Alert recipient.
