HID-POS
The HID-POS interface is recommended for new application programs. It can send up to 56 characters in
a single USB report and appears more efficient than keyboard emulation.
Features:
HID based, no custom driver required.
Way more efficient in communication than keyboard emulation and traditional RS-232 interface.
Note:
HID-POS does not require a custom driver. However, a HID interface on Windows 98 does. All HID
interfaces employ standard driver provided by the operating system. Use defaults when installing the
driver.
HID-POS
Access the engine with your program:
1. Use CreateFile to access the engine as a HID device.
2. Use ReadFile to deliver the scanned data to the application program.
3. Use WriteFile to send data to the engine.
