Alarm
– Expressions Editor page
The way in which the Uniplex series of NVRs is different in comparison with earlier Dedicated
Micros CCTV recorders.
The new approach allows the monitoring of alarm inputs local to the NVR itself (such as physical
alarm inputs, Video Motion Detection and camera failure), alarm inputs at each camera and virtual
alarm inputs and variables received over the network from other third-party systems.
Expression: The first column in the page is used to enter the details of the alarm input or trigger
which will cause the associated actions in the same row to take place.
All devices (physical or virtual) which can trigger events are named. One example is
LOCAL_INPUT_1, which is physical alarm input number 1, connected to the 25-way alarm input
connector on the rear panel of the NVR. Another example is VMD(1) which is a video motion
detection alarm from camera number 1. A complete list of expression keywords can be seen by
viewing the System>Status>About>Alarm Keywords page of the NVR.
Actions (active): The second column in the page is used to enter the required action desired when
the expression in the left-hand column is true (active).
Actions (inactive): The third column in the page is used to enter the required action desired when
the expression in the left-hand column is not true (inactive).
