Administration
After the configuration (e.g. setting the APN), the mobile connection is enabled here. We recommend us-
ing the ‘permanent’ option. The UMTS/GSM LED is blinking during the connection establishment and
goes on as soon as the connection is up. See the troubleshooting section and log files if the connection
does not come up.

Administrative connection sta-
tus:
This can be permanent, dial on demand or disabled. The on demand meth-
od waits for traffic coming from the LAN going to the WAN.
The permanent method keeps up the mobile interface. In case of link loss
the connection is reestablished.
Redial attempts:
Number of redialing attempts before switching to the next profile.
Dial on demand idle timeout:
Time in minutes after that an idle connection will be disconnected when
working with ‘dial on demand’
Operational connection status:
Shows whether a connection is up or not.
Application area:
Choose mobile if NetBox is driving around. For stationary installation
choose ‘stationary’.
Service type:
The preferred service type can be set here.
IP address:
IP address on mobile interface (ppp0) assigned by PPP server
Subnet mask:
Subnet mask on mobile interface (ppp0) assigned by PPP server
