Location
General
Prior to placing/setting up Saturn Bt, find the relative position of the
satellite using the
Azimuth and Elevation Angle Maps in Appendix A,
or on the enclosed Antenna Mounting/Connecting Up Instructions
enclosed in the transport case.
The antenna must be pointed at the satellite with a free line of sight
for optimum receiving and transmitting conditions.
Successful recep-
tion does not automatically guarantee successful transmission.
The beam is perpendicular on the antenna. The antenna can be
aligned to any vertical angle between upright and level position. See
the assembling instructions on the succeeding pages.
Extended Antenna Cable
The antenna cable may be extended to 15 m (RG223), or to 28 m
(RG214).
The maximum length of the coax cable is limited by the DC and RF
losses through the cable:
• Maximum DC loss: R loop 0.6 ohm
• Maximum RF attenuation : 12 dB at 1.5 GHz
Cables for operation at distances are available on request.
